Scoring
Cantonese Mah-Jong scoring uses a simplified point (faan1) ( ) system, ranging from 0 points up to 7 points.
A winning hand is evaluated and awarded points when certain criteria have been met. If several criteria
are met, the points for each criterium are added together to come up with the final score. (Click

To score a hand, evaluate a winning hand, add up the points for all conditions that are met, and compare
the result with the payout schedule.
The scoring system actually allows for scores greater than 7, but most games are capped at 7 to keep the
game friendly. Once the number of points has been determined, the winner collects chips from the other
players based on the following payout schedule:
